update - the first upload was too dark, - here's a revamped one. This is the Queen Centipette, who will be visited tonight by an unruly pair of egg-kleptomaniacs, she's not going to be happy.
Salsa Invertebraxa is a graphic novel that follows two invertebrate companions as they voyage around an imaginary world of strange insects and plants. More details and ordering at the official website @ www.pecksniffpress.com/

Is this semi-realistic fiction, like the animals and plants themselves aren't made up, just outside average knowledge?

The plants are generally as you would find them in the forest, there's some make believe, but the animals are warped; some of the insects are quite true to their real world counterparts, while others are totally imagined insects but their biology adheres to the rules that apply to insects.
For example, one of the two protagonists is an assembly of six different types of louse.

Hmmmm, sounds worth checking out. Thanks.

(speaking of louse, do you know that humans have three kinds, which is quite odd- usually there's only one per species it's adapted to)

Yup, we attract all kinds of things. XD Though I think we've made significant strides to containing head lice, in this country, at least.

If we made more effort to spread good sanitation, most of these things would be rare. :(

Wonderful job with the details. I especially loved the shine on nearly every insect!
I think I'd appreciate it more if arthropods didn't make me so squeamish.

Try studying a couple of insects/arachnids in detail, it might help overcome your squeam,- it really is a case of "wonders never cease",
